Gillielove [EORA]

Boorloo born, emerging as a producer and DJ in Eora (Sydney) underground scene, Gillielove melds the energy of a dance floor with her diverse musical experiences through storytelling. Now based in Paris, Gillie works hypnotic grooves, dancehall rhythms, broken percussions, mutant basslines, oddball electronics and all things experimental into a dancer’s revel! Moving through a range of styles and bpms, Gillie is known for seeking out deep cut releases and weaving them into a cohesive sonic narrative. A long-time staple of many a Sydney dancefloor, Gillie started their journey recording mixes at home in 2020 before curating the stunning Off Duty radio show show on beloved independent station Nomad Radio and hosting artists like Mike Midnight, Sina, Ivy and Oliver Kay. Gillie has also recorded mixes for Rinse FM - France, Kiosk, Noods, Lyl Radio, Triple J, Steeplejack, Pure Space, Transitions, Theory Therapy and Bleus.

Making their debut supporting Toni Yotzi at Ben Fester's legendary Eora party Heavenly in 2020, Gillie has hit the festival scene running with recent spots a Adelph Festival Marseille (FR), Freedom Time 2022 (WA), Outsider (NSW), Woodburnia (NSW), Vivid Sydney (NSW) and The Sydney Biennale (NSW), all whilst maintaining their roots in underground, down-to-earth, DIY people, parties and spaces. Gillie played the first editions of now iconic Eora-based DIY party series run by Boof, General Merchant and Bump.

On their DJ journey thus far, Gillie has supported artists like Lorraine James, DjRum, Batu, DJ Plead, ¥ØU$UK€ ¥UK1MAT$U, Tom Boogizm, Cassius Select, Underground Resistance, DJ Bone, Konduku, TSVI and MC Yallah. In 2023, Off Duty ran it’s first event in collaboration with Tripl0cate Boorloo, hosting Dj Fart in the Club, Deep Creep, Toni Yotzi, Mike Midnight and Lia T for what is known by those in the know as one of the hottest dances of last year's Christmas in Perlin period. 2023 also saw Gillielove make their production debut alongside Command D, self-releasing the track L’s. 2024 brings the release of their first solo production ‘Procession in Dante’s Square’ on Beatrice M.’s Bait Label and a forthcoming collaboration with Slow83 on General Merchant due out November 2024.
